Director of Mental Health Services, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

Liz specializes in working with individuals, teens, and couples. She has a particular interest in helping people who are capable of functioning well, but who suffer from depression, anxiety or relationship issues. She works with individuals who engage in self-defeating patterns who want support negotiating identity, lifestyle, or stage of life transitions. She’s invested in providing compassionate support for her client’s concerns including relationship, job, substance use, coming out and family issues.

Liz has a warm, active and authentic style. She has a natural curiosity and is always learning, from both experts in the field and from her clients. By engaging the client in their process Liz will find their edge with them in a way that feels safe and empathic. Part of the art of therapy is finding the best fit between the issues that bring the client to therapy and the right approach to supporting them – given their history, personal strengths and resources. Liz’s work is informed primarily from a perspective that is integrative, relational and psychodynamic (paying attention to the dynamics between the therapist and client as well as the client’s personal history). Liz received her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA.
