Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and work with individuals, couples, families and groups. I have a particular interest in working with relationship issues, such as, relationship with self, partner, family, friends and community. I have specialized training in partner relationships, trauma, emotional injuries, self-esteem, anxiety, grief, meditation, mindfulness and some somatic work.
I have been told by my clients that I offer a warm, accepting atmosphere in which they have felt heard and understood. My collaborative, client-centered style creates a teamwork approach in which you, the client are in the driver seat and I assist you towards realizing your goals and dreams.
My theoretical foundation, skills and experience are diverse. I draw from an attachment theory orientation. Safe and secure relationships allow us to thrive, therefore, rapport and trust are fundamental in my work with clients. Depending on the goals and client preference, I might utilize: Emotionally Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic Approach, Solution-Focused, EMDR, or interventions from Developmental Needs Meeting Strategies, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Somatic, Art and Sand Tray.
I received my first Master’s in School Counseling at Western Washington University and my second Master’s in Marriage and Family Counseling at San Diego State University.
