Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Talia Morrison is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is passionate about the therapeutic exploration of interpersonal connection and relational healing. Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Talia earned a B.S. in Human Development & Family Studies at the University of Vermont and pursued international educational experience in Haifa, Israel and Copenhagen, Denmark. Talia earned a M.A from Alliant International University in Marriage and Family Therapy, interned at the Center for Grief Care and Education at San Diego Hospice, and trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy at the Alliant Couple & Family Clinic. Among the many things Talia loves about the role of working with individuals and families is the opportunity to deepen and strengthen relationships through discovering the fundamental underlying emotional needs that drive our interactions, choices, and behaviors. She feels honored to support individuals, couples, and families as they breakthrough to their innermost capacities for accessing the healing power of profound truths.
Talia has extensive experience working with youth, couples, and families who have experienced relationship challenges, trauma, grief and loss, developmental and intellectual disabilities, as well as addiction and recovery from substance use disorders. Although Talia’s primary orientation for working with youth and families is through the lenses of Attachment and Emotionally Focused Therapy, she often draws from her knowledge and study of Jungian Psychology, Solution-Focused training, and Grief and Bereavement Psychotherapy. Additionally, Talia finds that interventions such as music, art, and movement allow alternative opportunities for therapeutic self-expression. Above all else, Talia takes great care to individualize the psychotherapeutic process and provide a safe, nurturing environment for self-exploration and initiation of positive change.
Talia’s newest area of interest has been providing psychotherapeutic support and clinical guidance to other mental health clinicians. Through years of working with individuals in the helping professions, Talia has learned to foster an encouraging environment for internal and professional growth that lends to the essential balance of healing self and others.
