Lauren Swain

Developmental Therapist, Registered Behavioral Therapist in the Petaluma Office

I believe sustainable growth is rooted in compassion, connection, and understanding. It is of utmost importance that my clients feel accepted, safe, and valued in our relationship. With this foundation, I can serve as a guide and teammate in exploring different ways to meet challenges. I have attained a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Sonoma State University and an Associate’s degree in Deaf Studies (American Sign Language). I have worked with children of varying support needs and abilities for 10 years, and exclusively neurodiverse populations the past 2 years. My approach is individualized to each client based on their support needs, strengths, and interests. In addition, my lived experience in a neurodiverse family system allows for a unique understanding and empathy of the systemic and relational barriers families may encounter in regards to neurodivergence. I am currently preparing to be a competitive applicant for a Ph.D. in Clinical Neuropsychology, with the goal of engaging in both clinical and research settings. In my personal time I enjoy rock climbing, making music, volunteer work, reading, and being in nature.
