How Insurance Works

When it comes to insurance and mental health services, "in-network" refers to providers who have a contract with your insurance company to offer services at predetermined rates. This typically means lower costs for you, as the insurance covers a significant portion of the fees, leaving you responsible only for co-pays, deductibles, or co-insurance. On the other hand, "out-of-network" providers do not have a direct contract with your insurance company. While many insurance plans still offer partial reimbursement for out-of-network services, you may need to pay upfront and submit claims for reimbursement.

At our practice, we understand the importance of making mental health care accessible and strive to help you navigate insurance coverage. While we accept some insurance plans, coverage depends on the specific provider you are working with. For most of our services, we are considered out-of-network providers.

If you have insurance, our team will call your insurance company on your behalf to determine whether your sessions are eligible for reimbursement. Many out-of-network plans still offer partial coverage for mental health services, and we are happy to provide the necessary documentation, such as superbills, to assist with reimbursement claims. Please note that out-of-network coverage varies depending on your plan, so it's important to understand your benefits before starting therapy.
