The Family Guidance and Therapy Center

Occupational Therapy

Sometimes, when our children have been diagnosed with a developmental delay or neurological differences, they may have trouble with day to day tasks at school or at home. When this happens, parents are often referred to an Occupational Therapist for help.

We Can Help

Occupational therapy empowers children to be independent in their self-care activities of daily living (ADL’s). Additionally, occupational therapists work on improving children’s gross motor skills, fine motor skills, visuospatial skills, and self-regulation.

Occupational therapists take into account the whole child including:

  • Emotional regulation
  • Social skills
  • Sensorimotor skills
  • Verbal and nonverbal communication
  • Physical abilities

At the Family Guidance and Therapy Center, we strive to deliver child-centered individualized therapy that focuses on your child's strengths, to improve their weaknesses. We promise to always collaborate with you in order to fully support your child in their therapy and across all their environments outside of therapy, such as their home, school, and community.

Live purposefully. Love fully. Grow with us!
