Re-Evaluation Assessments

In order to receive continued behavioral services, insurance companies commonly require periodic evaluations to re-confirm an original Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis. This re-evaluation may be required for school, insurance, college or benefits. Insurance companies wish to ensure that the diagnosis is up-to-date and consistent with the latest DSM-5 diagnostic criteria. An insurance company or school can request a re-evaluation take place once every three years for you or your child.

An Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis may also need to be reconfirmed for access to services and resources. At the Family Guidance and Therapy Center, we offer a standard re-evaluation procedure to provide this service in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Diagnostic re-evaluation is overseen by a licensed clinical psychologist (Dr. Jessica Hobson) and supervised psychological associates. Procedures include a background questionnaire and semi-structured parent interview, parent questionnaires to assess social-communication symptoms and adaptive functioning skills, a direct in-person or virtual social-communication assessment, review of records, preparation of report, and a feedback session.  

This re-evaluation service is offered at a flat fee rate of $1700 (with 50% deposit, and the balance due at the time report is provided). This service is offered to clients under the age of 20 years. Adult services and add-on diagnostic assessments are available on request.

Re-evaluation assessments include:

  1. A background questionnaire
  2. A semi-structured parent interview
  3. A parent questionnaires to assess social-communication symptoms and adaptive functioning skills
  4. A direct in-person or virtual social-communication assessment
  5. A review of records
  6. A preparation of report
  7. A feedback session
