The Family Guidance and Therapy Center is excited to announce that we are opening our first diagnosis and testing center for autism!

We will be offering the following for adults and all age groups and services will be available in all California counties (with no wait list!):

  • Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluations

  • Educational / Neuropsychological Evaluations

  • RDI® (including DI program) Therapy

  • Therapeutic Mental Health Services for Individuals & Families

  • Social Skills Classes and Groups

  • Mindfulness Classes and Groups for Children and Parents

  • High Quality Supervision for Employees Pre-licensure

  • Development and Oversight of a Multi-Disciplinary Practice

  • Education and Training in the Community and On-Site

Clinical Director Dr. Jessica Hobson

Dr. Jessica HobsonDr. Jessica Hobson is a licensed clinical psychologist (CA PSY28015) and Lecturer in the Psychology Department at Sonoma State University (2013 present), after working in London as a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Child Health, University College London (2002-2013).

She provides diagnostic assessments and therapy for individuals and families, and service learning experiences in the local community with students at Sonoma State University (under her supervision) for children with ASD (e.g. at the Swain Center in Santa Rosa, Child Parent Institute in Santa Rosa, and El Colegio Preschool in Rohnert Park).

Her research and clinical interests include joint attention, symbolic play, and parent-child interaction, with a focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder and early typical development. She has published academic papers on diverse topics in ASD including comorbid psychiatric symptoms, sensory processing differences, social anxiety, and neurocognitive profiles.

Dr. Hobson earned her PhD in Child Clinical Psychology from the University of Miami (1996-2001), supervised by Dr. Peter Mundy (now at the MIND Institute.) She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic (WPIC, in Pittsburgh, PA) under the supervision of Dr. Nancy Minshew (2000–2001) and she completed her postdoctoral training at the Neuropsychology Center of Louisiana (2001–2002).

The new offices are in the construction phase but we are accepting new clients!
