Family Guidance and Therapy Center San Diego Community Program

FGTC's San Diego Community Program location accepts children, teens and young adults. Our programs are open every afternoon, 1pm-8pm, Monday through Friday. Insurance is accepted.

Community programs help get your kids out of the house and into the community. We have group outings locally to places like the zoo, the beach and museums. We also help teach how to navigate the bus systems, road safety and what to do if you get lost.

Apart from going out into the community, our community program clinics are a fun place to just hang out. Our new community spaces have four rooms all with sensory items to soothe, regulate, activate energy and just enjoy.

Room 1 - Zen chill and quiet. This room holds puzzles, books and swings.

Room 2 - Social space that encourages friendships! This room includes karaoke machines, lego and games tables and video games.

Room 3 - High energy room. This room contains higher energy games like ping pong and air hockey, exercise spaces and a huge whiteboard for games.

Room 4 - Intimate Connection space. This outdoor space is for circling up in the sun. It's quiet and meant for thoughtful connections.

Both community program locations come equipped with kitchens, bathrooms and transportation. All of the FGTC community program events, in the clinic or in the community, are overseen by licensed developmental therapists using the principles of the RDI.

We will have more information up on our website shortly but if you are interested in enrolling your children, give us a call or click the appointment button and we will find the right fit for your child.

Why Does Community Matter?

Community is a feeling of connectedness as a result of shared beliefs, attitudes, and world views. Everyone needs to find their own place in the community. Sometimes, a child or young adult with autism can feel cut off, never having been taught the skills to go out on their own.

The community programs at FGTC are a place where autistic children, teens and young adults can find a safe space in the San Diego community. Learn more about the 'why' here.

Schedule an appointment online or give us a call to see which community program best serves you and your family’s needs.

Live purposefully. Love fully. Grow with us!
